Officially Back! A Surprise in the Latest Hunter x Hunter Chapter: The End of the Hiatus and the Return of the Iconic Duo
--
Return of Serialization & Publication Schedule
After a hiatus of about two years since late 2024, Yoshihiro Togashi officially released Chapter 411 on June 29, 2026, in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga is currently being serialized on a weekly basis. Chapter 412 was released on July 5, Chapter 413 on July 12, and Chapter 414 was just published on July 19, 2026.
Through regular updates on his personal X (Twitter) account, Togashi confirmed that he has completed scripts well in advance (having even finished inking chapters beyond number 420). This approach was deliberately chosen so that when the manga resumes publication, the serialization can be sustained for a significant period rather than immediately going on hiatus after just a few weeks.

Togashi continues to battle chronic back pain. He works on his own schedule, without strict deadlines, in order to maintain his health; consequently, Shueisha publishes the series on an irregular, long-term basis.
The biggest surprise for fans during this relaunch came in Chapter 414, when after a 12-year wait in the main storyline the iconic duo of Gon and Killua finally reappeared. Their return immediately sparked a massive stir within the global anime community.
However, the release system has now been made more flexible to safeguard the mangaka's health. Shueisha's editorial department has confirmed that Hunter x Hunter is no longer subject to strict weekly deadlines.
Given Togashi's struggle with chronic back pain, new chapters will be released on an intermittent or batch basis. Fans outside Japan can read the latest chapters legally, for free, and on a periodic basis via the official app or website.
